Kmabourov and partners - attorneys at law
2012

Финанси, дружествено и търговско право

Kambourov & Partners has been described as “more visible in the field” over the last year. “They have good lawyers and are easy to work with,” says one competitor, adding: “They are competent and have a variety of deals.”
Despite the general reduction in M&A deal flow of late, the firm, which is well known in this field, continues to build market share. This bodes well if, as expected, there is upturn in M&A work.
Clients are satisfied by the firm’s insight and its ability to handle complex matters, with one client stressing that the firm “It’s a big practice with good advice. Moreover, they fully protect customer’s interests and this is important in Bulgaria”.
The emerging presence of Stefan Tzakov has been duly noted with one client describing him as “an excellent guy who is very business minded”. Tzakov and senior associate Irena Karpe were involved in the largest project in Bulgarian economic history thus far as Kambourov & Partners along with HSBC London were chosen by Bulgarian Energy Holding to advise on the €5 billion restructuring of the second nuclear power plant in Bulgaria, NPP Belene.
The firm is also active on the largest M&A transaction in Bulgaria in 2009-10, namely, CVC Capital Partner’s acquisition of leading brewery Kamenitza (a component of Anheuser Bush InBev’s CEE business). Managing partner Vladimir Rangeloff and senior associate Veronika Hadjieva, continue to advise majority shareholders CVC and StarBev in the post acquisition merger with Kamenitza including major restructuring work.
A further highlight for the firm has been their assistance in Citygas Bulgaria EAD’s acquisition of Sigaz. Kambourov & Partners dedication to its work is perhaps best demonstrated by a client who said: “They’re available 24 hours per day. They’re always following issues on our acquisition”.
