Banking and Finance
In 2005 Yavor Kambourov and Vladimir Rangeloff at Kambourov & Partners were involved in arranging capital increases and refinancing for Bulgarian banks. Of particular note was its work for a major international investment bank on the legal and financial structuring of the privatization of a significant state-owned company and providing legal representation to a bank on a €80m securitization of an LBO transaction.
Corporate and M&A
Kambourov & Partners ongoing clients include a global German energy company, which it advised on the privatization of Bulgaria’s energy distribution network in 2005. The firm is described as “solid and capable“ and has a good record in dispute resolution, due to the experience of name partner Yavor Kambourov.
Kambourov & Partners went before the Supreme Administrative Court in 2005 to challenge the issuance of a GSM license on behalf of a major Bulgarian GSM network. The firm also counts Nokia’s Bulgarian subsidiary as a client. Away from telecoms, the firm advised on a large public software procurement and acted for a major regional advertising agency on a joint venture with a local entertainment company.
Privatisation, PPP and foreign investment
The well-regarded Vladimir Rangeloff of Kambourov & Partners advised a German multinational company with regards to the privatization of Bulgaria’s electricity distribution network, and advised one of the few remaining state-owned companies through its privatization in 2005.
Energy and Natural Resources
In addition to providing ongoing legal advice to a multinational energy company on its Bulgarian operations during and after its involvement in the EUR695m privatization of the electricity sector, Kambourov & Partners has been active in litigation concerning gas distribution licenses and due diligence for overseas investors in the mining sector.
Real Estate and Construction
‘Very efficient’ Kambourov & Partners has built relationships with foreign agencies offering residential Bulgarian real estate to investors. In response to demand from British investors, the firm has moved its extremely personable senior associate Radoslav Alexandrov to represent the firm in London. Through 2005 the firm advised on numerous small real estate transactions with a combined value of EUR27m.
