A new modern and full-equipped passenger terminal was inaugurated on Wednesday, 4 December at the airport of Burgas. The terminal covers an area of 21 000 sq. m and its capacity can meet the needs of 2500 passengers per hour.
The total investment in the development and construction of the terminal and the related infrastructure is over EUR 40m.
The terminal offers spacious arrival and departure areas, attractive retail zones, restaurants, cafes and comfortable open spaces, all elaborated in a smart and state-of-the-art design. Modern technology, the latest passenger and luggage flow operating system, electronic calculation and regulation of all terminal processes are among the many advantages of the new terminal.
Burgas airport’s new passenger terminal, together with the one in Varna, brought its concessioner - Fraport Twin Star Airport Management, the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association award for biggest investment in tourism for 2013.
All development and construction works of the two terminals were realized by the consortium TIE – Ictas - the winner of the $104m Bulgarian airports contract (Varna and Burgas).
Kambourov & Partners provided IC Ictas Insaat – a massive infrastructure and superstructure developer, with overall legal assistance regarding the company’s participation in both terminal projects. The team led by partner Atanas Shopov advised on the drafting and conclusion of construction agreements and all legal aspects of the construction process including legislative requirements for real estate developments and investment projects, legal opinion on all issues related to the construction process of the terminal and the related infrastructure, assistance in negotiations.
