Moving People, Growing Business, Creating Opportunities: International Talent Mobility in Focus

On 29 September 2026, Kambourov & Partners, together with AmCham Bulgaria, hosted “Moving People, Growing Business, Creating Opportunities”, a business brunch dedicated to the legal and practical aspects of international talent mobility.

As Bulgaria’s appeal to international investors increasingly rests not only on cost competitiveness, but also on skills, expertise and added value, the ability to attract and successfully integrate international professionals is becoming increasingly important.

The discussion brought together legal, business, relocation and institutional perspectives. Kambourov & Partners was represented by Mario Arabistanov, Partner, and Todor Vlaykov, Senior Associate, who were joined by Emil Botusharov, Managing Director and Executive Board Member at ITA Group Bulgaria, and Simon Harrys, Managing Director of International House Sofia, alongside representatives of the Migration Directorate at the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussion went beyond immigration formalities, addressing the practical realities companies face when relocating talent to Bulgaria – from the EU Blue Card and work permit options to intra-corporate transfers, remote work, relocation planning and the less visible costs and risks that can arise along the way.

A key takeaway was that successful talent mobility starts well before an employee arrives. It requires the right legal framework, realistic planning and close coordination between the business, its advisers and the relevant institutions.
