The team regularly advises on abuse of dominance, cartel investigations, vertical agreements, distribution systems, pricing practices, market access arrangements, unfair trading practices and competition compliance programmes. We assist clients in assessing and mitigating competition risks arising from day-to-day business operations, commercial strategies and sector-specific regulation.

A core strength of the practice is merger control and transactional support. Working closely with the firm’s corporate and M&A teams, we advise on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and foreign investments, including regulatory filings, competition assessments and clearance procedures before the relevant authorities.

The department has extensive experience representing clients in proceedings before the Commission for Protection of Competition, sector regulators and the Bulgarian courts. Our work includes behavioural investigations, dawn raids, sector inquiries, unfair competition disputes and competition-related litigation, as well as strategic advice in highly regulated industries such as energy, telecommunications, media, retail, financial services, healthcare and technology.
