Plamen Yotov

Plamen Yotov is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in competition law. Since 2020, he has led the EU & Competition practice at Kambourov & Partners, having started his legal career at the firm in 2009.

His expertise covers a wide range of complex competition law matters, including dominance, cartels, state aid, abuse of dominant position, merger control, compliance, and dawn raids. Plamen has a particular focus on unfair competition and antitrust regulation, navigating both domestic and EU legal frameworks with skill. His sectoral experience spans retail, energy, consumer products, TMT, financial services, and healthcare.

Plamen is recognised as a Future Leader in Competition in Bulgaria by Who’s Who Legal. Beyond his legal practice, he has contributed to legal education and international moot court competitions. He participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (2011–2012), later advising and coaching the Sofia University team. Plamen has served as an arbitrator at the Vis Moot since 2015 and a Memorial Judge at the FDI Moot since 2014. He was part of the winning team at the 2013 Central and Eastern European Moot Court Competition in EU Law, held under the auspices of the Court of Justice of the European Union. In 2011, he won the National Student Writing Contest organised by the Bulgarian Commission on Protection of Competition.
